Sherry Embrack serves as the IT Project Coordinator at the Virgin Islands Office of Highway Safety, a division of the VI Police Department within the Government of the U.S. Virgin Islands. A GVI employee for two (2) years, she previously served as a Secondary School Teacher with the VI Department of Education. As a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Secondary School Teacher, she taught basic Graphic Arts to high school students using Adobe Photoshop software. To her current position, she brings technical skills which include database design, graphic design, inventory management, interpersonal and communication skills, critical thinking, team management, problem solving and organizational skills.

 

Ms. Embrack holds a master’s degree in Managerial Information System Tools and a bachelor’s degree in Technical Management/ Web & Graphic Design.

As the IT Project Coordinator, Ms. Embrack ensures IT projects and department resources are utilized appropriately. She compiles, coordinates, and collaborates with vendors to conduct assessments and provide quotes for department security systems. Additionally, she works with VIPD management to record and maintain inventory records and documentation of all computer equipment. Collaborates with team leaders on the preparation of detailed e-waste logs for disposal of outdated and broken equipment.  Her project management duties include generating project status reports, coordinating project schedules, managing project meetings, and identifing and resolving technical problems.  Ms. Embrack is also responsible for identifying and analyzing systems requirements and defining project scopes, requirements, and deliverables.
